Hours & Reservations
When is the Penthouse open and available for brunch and dinner?
The Penthouse is open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Dinner service is available on a case-by-case basis.
Do you accept reservations?
Yes. Reservations are highly recommended, especially for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Do you accept walk-ins?
We do accommodate walk-ins based on availability, though reservations are encouraged for the best experience.
Is there a time limit on tables?
During peak dining hours, seating times may be limited to ensure we can accommodate all guests with reservations.
What happens if I’m running late?
We hold reservations for a 15-minute grace period. If you are running late, we recommend calling the restaurant so we can do our best to accommodate you & avoid a no show fee.
Families & Accessibility
Do you offer a kids menu?
While we do not offer a separate printed kids menu, we have several dishes suitable for children. Our team is happy to assist with recommendations.
Is La Vie family-friendly?
Yes. Children are welcome. We kindly ask families to remain mindful of the dining atmosphere, especially during evening service.
Is La Vie accessible?
Yes. Our restaurant and event spaces are ADA accessible, including elevators and restrooms.

Where are you located?
We are located at The Wharf in Washington, DC, offering beautiful waterfront surroundings and convenient access to nearby attractions. Our entrance can be found next to Cordial Craft Wine, Beer & Spirits & Mi Vida
Is parking available?
Yes. Several parking garages are conveniently located throughout The Wharf, along with street parking and nearby rideshare drop-off points. We highly recommend using rideshare or public transportation, as The Wharf can be busy during events. For parking details, please visit The Wharf’s website.
Dress Code & Policies
Is there a dress code?
Smart casual to upscale attire is recommended. Athletic wear, beachwear, and overly casual attire may not be permitted during evening service or special events.
Can I bring my own wine?
We do not allow outside wines that are already carried in-house. For all other wines, please contact us in advance regarding corkage fees.
Special Occasions
Do you offer celebrations like birthdays or anniversaries?
Absolutely. While we cannot guarantee specific seating or décor, we are happy to note special occasions and help make your visit memorable.
Can I bring a cake or dessert?
Outside desserts may be permitted with prior approval and a cake-cutting or plating fee. Please contact us in advance.
Igloos & Penthouse
How can I secure an Igloo reservation?
All Igloo reservations are booked through Tock. Availability, pricing, and policies can be found on our Tock page via our website.
General Policies
Can I take photos during my visit?
Yes. Guests are welcome to take personal photos. Professional photography, videography, or commercial use requires prior approval.
Are pets allowed?
Service animals are welcome. Other pets may be permitted in select outdoor areas.
Large Parties & Private Events
Do you accommodate large groups?
Yes. For parties of 8–14 guests, please contact our large party reservationist at heidy@lavie-dc.com. For parties of 15 or more, please contact our Private Events Department at events@lavie-dc.com.
Is there a food and beverage minimum?
Yes. Minimums and rental fees vary by space, date, and time of day.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends, peak seasons, and holidays.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. A signed agreement and deposit are required to secure your event date.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms vary by event size and date and are outlined clearly in each event contract.
Can I bring outside vendors (decor, entertainment, AV)?
Outside vendors may be permitted with prior approval, proof of insurance, and adherence to building and venue guidelines.
